拋光磚和拋釉磚在規格尺寸大小上面也是有一定區別的，拋光磚主要用在客廳燈地方比較多，尺寸上一般是600、800的大地磚，而拋釉磚常常是300*300的小地磚。

拋光磚的顏色比較單一，沒有太大的變化，磚面的各種顏色之間相差也不會太強烈，但拋釉磚就不一樣，拋釉磚比拋光磚的色彩豐富。拋釉磚是印上花紋后淋得釉，色彩上要比較鮮艷，而且也完全不受限制，紅黑黃藍青紫完全沒問題的。

磚坯是區分拋光磚和拋釉磚的關鍵所在，拋光磚是把顏色滲入到磚體里面，所以在表面以下1-2mm磚體的顏色與表面是相同。而拋釉磚則完全不一樣的，完全不會滲入到磚體的，看磚的側面，釉面磚分層比較明顯，很明顯能看到釉面，如果磚面只有一層非常溥的一個顏色層的就肯定是拋釉磚。
